Dear Project Resource participant:

Welcome to Project Resource Rhode Island!

All too often, stewardship is relegated to the language of meeting budgets and of sustainability. We are excited to work together to change the culture of giving in the Church. Project Resource was designed to turn a congregational team into a team of resource developers with the training and digital resources to engage in year-round stewardship, engage in money narratives, and answer this moment's needs. There may be reasons that mission is confined, but money no longer needs to be one of them.

We welcome you to Project Resource and a new relationship with money!

Preparation for Project Resource

Please prepare for your attendance at Project Resource by watching this Simon Sinek TED talk on YouTube. Understanding our Why is vital to changing our narratives. Our articulation of the Why shows our passion for sharing Good News and inspires others to action.

Rhode Island Virtual Binder

On this page are resources for our Saturday, April 18 training. During our training, we’ll share slides as we move through our discussions and content. Recognizing that some people learn best by taking notes, we offer guided notes pages that we encourage individuals/teams to print out and have on hand for our meetings.

Helpful Tools & Resources:
Printing color documents in black and white (Windows)

Taking Project Resource Further

The following questions should be explored with your team to keep Project Resource at the front of mind and will help you implement a new culture of stewardship in your church and diocese:

  1. Establishing metrics: How will we establish baselines and analyses?

  2. Accountability and transparency: How will we make this ministry a priority in our church/diocese?

  3. How will we set measurable goals for systems change and increased giving?

  4. Where might we experience barriers?

  5. What new habits will we implement to live into a new narrative?
